Moments…

Moments spent nestled,

comforted by thoughts of you,

drift away as beautiful dreams,

only to mold real ones that

disappear even faster.

Home

Wafting in your scent,

I breathe in your soul

As my lips find yours and

my arms, a home.

The hug

A moonlit sky,

Canopy of stars,

Whisper of a breath,

Sinful blush,

The dewy eyes,

Nervous touch,

The endless wait,

A hug, we must.

Surviving Cancer does not make you a hero, it only leaves you wounded for life

Before you jump to conclusions, I would like to add that I am only talking from personal experience here and in no way do I intend to hurt any sentiments.

I was diagnosed with non-gestational choriocarcinoma (ovarian cancer) at the tender age of eleven (yes, even before I started menstruating). Two major surgeries and five rounds of chemotherapy later, I was declared cancer free and thankfully, I continue to be so. And let me tell you I am NOT proud of it. In fact, there was nothing heroic about me ‘battling’ cancer as people like to call it. I was blessed to have a supportive family who could afford the expensive medication. I was blessed to have a school that allowed me the flexibility of studying from home for the duration of the treatment. I was blessed to have the best doctors at Tata memorial Hospital (Mumbai, India) and yes, I was lucky that it was diagnosed early. To be honest, I behaved like any other school kid – throwing tantrums and refusing medication, if not cursing my parents for feeding me ‘wheat grass’, threptin biscuits and all that crap.

Mystery

A million ‘YOU’s,

A million minds,

Every eye

a different sight,

A piece of cake for

the arrogant few,

A sordid tale for

the sinful lives,

A hopeless dream for

the gloomy ones,

 A smoldering mystery for

those destined,

It’s all in the eyes,

say a few,

It’s beyond you,

Go live a life…

Life saver

You may not notice my tears,

You may not kiss them away,

You may not lessen my sorrow,

You may not hope and pray,

& yet you do so much more,

just by being there,

your smile revives my heart

and it lives

Getting It Right

Daily Prompt: Groundhog day

In the comedy “Groundhog Day” Bill Murray experienced the same day again and again, stuck in a time loop until he got the day “right.” What day would you choose to repeat until you got it right? Do you think it’s ever possible to get life “right”?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us REPETITION.

The day started off

as any other,

Dull,

boring,

no colour.
