Getting It Right

Daily Prompt: Groundhog day

In the comedy “Groundhog Day” Bill Murray experienced the same day again and again, stuck in a time loop until he got the day “right.” What day would you choose to repeat until you got it right? Do you think it’s ever possible to get life “right”?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us REPETITION.

The day started off

as any other,

no colour.

that, it was,

but not so much,

to be bothered!

Had a presentation,

to give at 2,

Not alone,

in a group of few,

A bunch of intelligent,

talented people,

Believed it too 🙂 !

Four hours before,

the stated time,

 we were busy rehearsing ,

our respective lines,

Chatting along,

laughing away,

oblivious to what,

in front of us,

Two hours to go,

we decided to combine,

our individual slides,

in a pen drive,

We stuck it in,

our trusty laptop,

waiting for it,

to copy and come out,

Our wait proved

to be an endless one,

turned out

it was

filled with worms!!,

We searched high and low,

for a replacement in vain,

switching computers,

hopping insane,

One hour to go,

our only chance,

was to rush back home,

For a pen drive,

God damn!

We hopped into,

the nearest rick(auto rickshaw),

pleading him to take us,

 real quick,

Twenty minutes,

left to go,

Got stuck in traffic,

on our way back,

oh no!!

What else to do,

we just paid and ran,

Me in my heels,

 limping, cursing,

a gran!!

Huffing , panting,

we finally reached,

fifteen minutes,

there were  still to keep,

Adjusting our hair,

make-up touched,

we thought our woes

had left us.

Tough luck,

I couldn’t have been,

far more wrong,

my bad luck wasn’t dead

or far and gone,

My turn came,

and I started to go on,

problem was,

there was no stop button!,

The teacher and others stared at me,

hinting me,

to shut up and leave,

Giving me

those murderous looks,

while I went on,

like a dumb old schmuck!

Of course I received

a good dressing down,

I spoiled it all,

like a stupid clown,

But would  you believe

how it all ends,

take a wild guess,

dear sweet friends,

Our group came out tops,

beating everybody

& our topic by the way,

I look back now,

and  I can’t help wish that,

if I could do it again,

I would do it right,

But then I think,

oh what the heck!

what’s life without

a little ship wreck!!
