Hawkers on your left,
Hawkers on your right,
Poor old footpaths..
nowhere in sight!
Ever swelling crowds,
spilling on to the roads,
Dedicated to the innumerable mothers who love their children unconditionally and to the children who are fortunate enough to receive it!
Her heart stopped beating,
she was all but dead,
There was not a glimmer of hope,
was what they said.
She was pregnant too,
and her baby was due,
in three weeks or so,
Some get married for love, some do so for family, but they married for a cause, so noble and eleemosynary!

It all started when the girl,
set eyes on a six months baby,
abandoned by a teenage mother,
who was an HIV +ve lady.
The tiny tot wasn’t infected,
all she needed was a home,
The day you enter this beautiful world
is the day she becomes a mother.
Her eyes moisten with tears of joy,
as you scream and cry and holler.
her days begin and end with you,
so do her nights from then.
Don’t you dare misconstrue my tears
as a sign of weakness,
It is for your own good, I say,
Coz the day I decide to put you down,
you will only be left
You step out of the house,
wondering why the hell on earth,
you chose to go by train,
when of planes, there was no dearth!
You then remind yourself,
At least it’s air-conditioned,
